Features

Waterproof

Wondaleaf Adhesive Pouch (WLAP) acts as a barrier against contamination and infection – from both inside and outside WLAP.

Breathable

For extended wear, only a single dressing is needed for the whole healing process as long as the seal on the skin is intact.

Transparent

To check on the wound without removing the dressing. All the current dressings need painful removal to check on the wound.

Non-adhesive Pouch (I)

This allows for contour dressing (on joints, limbs, penis, nipple etc.), and as there is zero pressure on the wound surface, it will not stick to the wound.

Non-adhesive Pouch (II)

The pouch also acts as a receptacle for exudates, a reservoir for topical medications, or potentially a space for biological wound debridement (leeches, maggots etc.).

Other features

It can also be connected to a suction, with or without a filter/sponge. It can also be used as an umbilical pouch, faecal retention unit (for the prevention of faecal contamination at perineal surgery) or as a colostomy bag.

Frequently Asked Questions

Wondaleaf Adhesive Pouch is designed to remain sticky on the skin, but as long as you peel it off slowly, it should not be painful when removing Wondaleaf Adhesive Pouch.

The benefits of Wondaleaf Adhesive Pouch are listed below:

  • Waterproof but Breathable – Wondaleaf Adhesive Pouch can act as a waterproof barrier against contamination and infection in both directions. It is also breathable, allowing the user to wear it for up to 5 days with optional padding.
  • Transparent – to monitor wound healing without removing the dressing.
  • Inert and hypoallergenic – FDA certified medical grade polyurethane. Gentle even to baby’s skin. No known interaction with any substance.
  • Non-adhesive Pouch (the adhesive edges are literally in the form of a strip).
  • Contour dressing – joints, limbs, penis, umbilical stump, chin, nipple, anus. E.g., circumcision wound.
  • Zero pressure on the wound.
  • Receptacle for exudates.
  • Not stagnant on the wound surface, therefore less likely to stick to the wound: no pain and bleeding at movement or removal.
  • Temporary “foreskin” for the immediate-post circumcised sensitive glans penis.
  • Moisture maintenance for optimal healing to prevent scab and keloid formations.
  • Negative pressure dressing if connected to a gentle suction.
  • Pouch outlet that is away from the wound. With or without a connector. Resealable with a stopper/ sealer or just a simple twist and tape.
  • Draining of exudates – of any amount without the need to change the dressing. Even non-sterile gauze or tissue paper can be used to soak up the exudates as the outlet is away from the wound site.
  • Biological wound debridement – maggots, leeches- the pouch is completely permeable to oxygen gas.
  • Procedures – cut open the top of the pouch to allow wound irrigation and debridement without removal of dressing, the pouch can then be twisted and taped for waterproofing.
  • Feces Isolation of feces at anus and stoma during operations.
  • Umbilical Pouch – for the prevention of omphalitis.
